Law School Graduation

Picture19192

It has been three years, a few moves and callings, two miscarriages, thousands of pages of reading, hundreds of hours of studying, long nights, lonely days and way more money than I am comfortable thinking about, but Charles finally is done with school. I have never been so proud of my husband than I was today watching him get hooded and receive his degree(and he got it right there, so he really did graduate...he was thrilled to know that he didn't fail anything).

(I would like to point out that I am in three and an half inch heels and still shorter than everyone.)

Duran Lunch Out

On everyone's last day in Bellevue, we went out to the Chinese Buffet for Dad's birthday lunch the day after his birthday since we "don't eat on Sunday."

Picture18945

Everyone, minus Charles and I, as we wouldn't fit in the shot.  Sorry your eyes are closed, Mom. And, look at that ham in the lower left corner. Where did she get that from?

Cousin Visit

Charles has a sister who currently lives in St. Joseph, Missouri.  She and her family came up to visit and go to the temple.  Sydney had a blast with her cousin, Kaytie.

Omaha Farmer's Market and Joslyn Art Museum

While Trevor and Julie were here, we went to visit the Omaha Farmer's Market.  Lots of yummy produce to see and fun people to be with.

Of Squirrels and Elephants.

Picture12934

Chelsea had asked Sydney at one time what her favorite animal was and Sydney replied that it was a squirrel.  So, when Talia found one at Jo-Ann's she had to get it for her.  My parents brought it out one day when they had an appointment in Lincoln.  They asked Sydney what her favorite animal was and she replied, "An elephant."  Thankfully, the squirrel was still very exciting.

Great Grandparents

My grandparents came to visit for a few days and Sydney loved spending time with her great grandma and great grandpa.

High Priest Picture

Picture6901

Since Charles already posted about being made a High Priest, I thought I would include the "High Priest Picture." Apparently, you can't really smile when you become a High Priest. Nevertheless, we were thrilled to have all of our parents and Talia here with us. We almost had them here for even longer, as the interstate was closed for hours due to whiteout and blizzard conditions.

It's good to be home

Highlights from this weekend:
  • Spending time with our family, especially Trevor and Julie.
  • Charles' birthday.
  • Watching New Moon.
  • Sydney being SUPER excited for Thanksgiving. She sobbed when I put her down for a nap because she didn't want to miss Thanksgiving.
  • Visiting the zoo and Gingerbread Display.
  • Going to the temple.
  • Listening to my dad's talk about families and his tie ins to Twilight.

Chelsea with the bouquet.

Funny story about Chelsea. At the Utah reception, Julie threw her bouquet as is tradition. All the single girls gathered to catch it, including Chelsea. Julie tosses the bouquet. Chelsea, in the heat of the moment, rushes to the front of the crowd and pushes down Julie's sister to catch the bouquet. She caught it...and is now telling us to plan for a May 28th wedding. Yeah, right.
