Great Grandparents

My grandparents came to visit for a few days and Sydney loved spending time with her great grandma and great grandpa.

Both Charles and I have been reminiscing about the days leading up to when Sydney was born recently. And, while it makes me sad that Sydney is no longer a little newborn, I'm absolutely in LOVE with the little girl she has become.

Here are some things I love about Sydney:

• She always wants to play with her friends.
• She loves to help me in the kitchen.
• She loves to eat tacos.
• She's dying to have a baby brother or sister...so much that she keeps telling people she is going to have one, much to our chagrin (and that is NOT any sort of announcement!)
• The way she draws people.
• Her own sense of style.

Camping

We took a quick camping trip to a Branched Oak Lake, which is about 25 miles from our house.  It was a nice, if short, break from the everyday and we had a lot of fun spending time together.

No camping trip is complete without a fire, according to Charles.

See that light?  That's a firefly.  If it had been earlier in the summer, there would have been tons of them lit at the same time.

And the best way to end a evening?  Stargazing with my sweetie.
