That Girl

DSC_0141

This is how Sydney walked around the house this morning. Papa's socks on her hands and a washcloth on her head.

BYU v. Utah Basketball Game

DSC_0191

For Valentine's Day, I got Charles tickets to the last two BYU men's basketball games of the season. Today was against Utah and it was an amazing game. We had a ton of fun and it was made even better by the 63-50 win over them.

Meeting

DSCF7611

Sydney met Nora for the first time yesterday. This was the first time she's ever held a live baby before. She may have squished her a bit...because here is Nora's next reaction to being held.

Not only that, but then Sydney decided to be a "baby" the rest of the night. She wanted to be held horizantally in our arms with a blanket wrapped around her. Not so easy when the "baby" is over twenty pounds and well over two feet long.

Friday Fill-in

1. Give me ice cream and I'll eat it all.

2. Whenever I cook, I make a mess.

3. I wish I could keep Sydney small forever.

4. Sub Zero ice cream was the last thing I ate that was utterly delicious.

5. To live in this world you have to be pretty tough.

6. Other than this one, Danielle's is the last blog I commented on.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to Cabella's so Sydney can see the fish, tomorrow my plans include having Charles' home teaching families over for dinner and Sunday, I want to hang out with my family and maybe the Phairs!

Videos

These are some videos I've taken recently. The first is of Sydney trying to put a diaper on her duck and the second is of her walking backwards. She had been doing it for, like, five minutes before I grabbed the camera.

Introducing...

DSCF7468

So, this obviously isn't our baby. But she is the newest daughter of our good friends, Jamie and Karen Phair. Her name is Nora Nicole and she was born on February 11th. This was taken on the 13th, so she was almost two days old here. You'll be seeing more pictures of her, since Karen asked me to take their family pictures here soon. Guess I better decide on my new camera soon. ;)

We Love to See the Temple

We went to the Draper Temple open house today. It was a great family outing. We got to take Sydney through and see what the whole temple looked like. It is gorgeous inside. You aren't allowed to take pictures inside, so we just have pictures of the outside and some from inside the church next to the temple, where the sister missionaries could answer questions you may have had.

Friday Fill-in

We haven't done much that is blog worthy recently. Hopefully this weekend will fix that.

1. It seems like I've been a slacker on this front.

2. Shut the lights off when you're done, please?

3. If I thought you got to try the food, I'd want to be in the audience of Iron Chef!

4. The Phantom of the Opera is what I think of most when I think of you.

5. To me, Valentine's Day means pizza and Secondhand Lions (a tradition Charles and I have had since before we even were dating).

6. My family gives me strength.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to seeing the Draper temple and then later, sushi and a movie with Charles, tomorrow my plans include our traditional Valentine's activities: pizza, jello and Secondhand Lions and Sunday, I want to hopefully see baby Nora!

Cute girl

Sydney has been pretty cute recently. She tried to dress herself this morning. I had put her in an old t-shirt of mine for breakfast and she insisted that her arm was supposed to go through the neck hole. Then, she had on her pants, pulled up only to just under her diaper. (Originally, she had both legs in the same pant leg, but I'm not a cruel mother...I fixed that one for her.) And then, she had her t-shirt for the day on...pulled up on her legs, with one foot going through an arm hole. It was quite the sight. I'll get the picture I took up here later.

The other night, she tried to put a diaper on one of her stuffed animals. She would lay the diaper out, then turn and get the duck, then have to fix the diaper again. This went on for a while. Then, she finally gets the duck on the diaper and pulls it up around it. Then, she gave the duck a hug and used it for a pillow to "sleep" on the floor.

She's also started saying her colors along with you when you read her colors book to her. It's just repeating what we are saying, but it's a start.
